My name is Darby. My pronouns are she/her. I specialize in working with clients who struggle with eating disorders, trauma, and addiction. In addition, I have a passion in working with LGBTQ+, sexual orientation, and gender identity issues.
My therapeutic style is grounded in the belief that clients have the ability to grow and change. I follow an empowerment based and eclectic approach to therapy. My graduate training is rooted in psychodynamic theory while my undergraduate training is rooted in a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy. I am an anti-diet and fat positive therapist. In addition, I am also a certified trauma treatment professional, and am a member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
I strive to cultivate a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for each of my clients. I believe in building a mutually collaborative relationship with my clients as I assist them in their journey to healing.
Some fun facts about me: I love animals and have four adorable guinea pigs. I grew up dancing. My favorite style of dance is modern. I have a deep connection with nature. I enjoy writing (particularly poetry). I am passionate about my work and look forward to getting to know more about you.
